It is an amazing feeling being under such bridge, see the structures from underneath, it allows us to have a better notion of the so complex and simple at the same time architecture. HFF Annalia

Aber ich wundere mich, dass solche modernen Züge über solche alten Brücken fahren. Diese Brücke ist mindestens 80 Jahre alt.

I don't know the answer to your question for sure, Trester, but I suspect it's something like "lack of money to invest in updating infrastructure". This old bridge is used by the high speed trains as well as the regional and local "slow poke" trains. It's probably one of the bottle necks that plague high speed lines in various parts of the country and especially in Southern Italy. High speed essentially ends in Naples on one coast and in Bari on the other

Thank you, David. Sorry you can't travel yet. We can, but I am still waiting until we are fully vaccinated (I have only had my first shot and my husband will be getting his in a couple of days). Belated HFF dear Annalia…I love the balance in this perspective, which has a calmness to it. By contrast the PiP looks sharp, and more aggressive in firm.
