through the old window pane

through the old window pane
In an old house that has seen very little remodelling. While most of the window panes have been replaced overtime, a few are still the old "drawn glass" panes. This shot of the building in front of one window shows the deformations produced by the old glass pane (on the right) vs the deformation-free modern glass pane on the left. I liked how the deformations gave this very commonplace building almost a Gaudi-like air :)))

Thank you, George. I looked up "vetro tirato" (the Italian name for glass produced with the old process of drawing (or pulling) the glass pane) and discovered that there's something called "restoration glass" that imitates the result of old glass making processes, so that old buildings (or furniture) can be fitted with glass panes that produce the same effect as the one on the right of my image. I guess others must have noticed that that wavelike effect is intriguing!
