We got visitors the other day, some showed up upstairs and one ... (see PIP) downstairs! :)

In an old house that has seen very little remodelling. While most of the window panes have been replaced overtime, a few are still the old "drawn glass" panes. This shot of the building in front of one window shows the deformations produced by the old glass pane (on the right) vs the deformation-free modern glass pane on the left. I liked how the deformations gave this very commonplace building almost a Gaudi-like air :)))

In a renovated building along the river banks, an old arch window maintains its brick arch and interesting old iron grid, while the new steel and glass window reflects the trees at the Cascine Park on the opposite bank of the river ... and part of my bicycle that I thought I had parked out of the way enough not to turn up in the shot but evidently didn't :D In the pip: a detail of the grid design (and unintended reflection of my arm, of course!). Morning light ... and, for once, no cat paw tracks on the glass-top table :)

A few summers ago the area of the Anconella Park was hit by a freak weather phenomenon known as a "downdraft". Many of the park trees were uprooted or snapped off and most windows in the area were smashed. Looks like this particular house was abandoned and nobody has bothered to make repairs since. Thought the rusty old fence went rather well with the general air of disrepair. HFF and a nice week end to all!

In a restored building a window was closed off but the corniche was left in place. A nearby tree added a color matching, graceful wreath to complete the minimalist composition.
