This fence grew up with me, Roger. When I was a kid and took this route to school, it was only chest high, then it was extended up above the head of an average person and finally, about ten years ago, they made it into a fenced tunnel. This bridge crosses over a rather deep gorge and people had started to select this place to commit suicide by jumping: thus, the enhanced safety measures. Thank you, Tanja. The low sun was still lighting up the houses at the top of the hill, while the ones down in the river gorge were already in the dark, which made for interesting contrasts, I thought.
