Durham Cathedral

Taken from outside the 'Court Inn' pub, which (strangely enough) is next to the crown court and the prison.... Or St Cuthberts Catholic church.. Which ever frame of reference you prefer!!!!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Roger (Grisly) clubI just happened to be there early that morning!!
Yes, I could have put the longer lens on the camera, but I thought the context of a few buildings might make a better picture.
Glad you like it!
Best wishes
Peter
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Xata clubAs I said to Roger above, I thought a few buildings would add something, since with no people, no need for a church!

I'm pleased that you have enjoyed it!
Many years ago I spent a week at the university here, and enjoyed it. Didn't see much of the town though! It is worth a visit if you are passing, even if just for the architecture of the cathedral.
Best Wishes,
Peter

I am so happy that you like the cathedral picture.
It is a prominent and famous landmark in the city of Durham, but on this day I could devote no more time to it than this totally unexpected morning scene which met my eyes. Then on to Fountains Abbey... Photos will follow eventually, but you found one already!
Best Wishes, and a good weekend,
Peter
