Best wishes ... Steve
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteGlad you have enjoyed it. You are right, just upstream from Jordan's cereal mill. Now you mention it (and I had to find a picture of Jordan's mill..) they do look very similar. I suppose if this mill hadn't been converted into flats, and hence there were no windows, the two would be very hard to distinguish.
It is very hard to believe that the river was navigable at one time. (There is still an old lock next to Jordan's mill. Maybe you remember it from our outing..
Best Wishes and a good week ahead.
Peter
It is a really wonderful composition of the old Mill!!
It looks gorgeous!! And the plants in foreground make a nice frame. The reflection of the mill is a bonus!!
A big YS!

I am pleased you found it interesting.
I am not sure, but if you look closely there has been some work done to the bricks in that area, so maybe a more recent (ornamental) addition. However, this kind of structure is put there to allow the lifting of raw material directly up to the top floor. The production processes then go down the floors, so no need to struggle taking stuff upstairs!
Best Wishes,
Peter
