Peter_Private_Box club has replied to bonsai59 clubThank you for visiting, and I am really honoured that you like it. Yes, it is narrow gauge. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland were built to serve the local slate mines, and the gauge is approx 60cms, same as the tracks in the mines. The locomotive is a double Fairlie, so of course two chimneys, and it is coal burning as the picture was taken, so plenty of smoke!.

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Nick Weall clubThank you so much! Your visit is most welcome. I am sure you will remember this from Pano days. Although I have so many of the local railways...

Best wishes ... Steve
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to SteI am really happy that you have enjoyed it. Of course when it is possible to go to the station every day, sooner or later the sun will shine, and the smoke will go the way you want!
Today the station is very different, so a piece of history too!
Best Wishes
Peter
I didn't know you in Pano days, more's the pity!!
Best wishes,
Andy
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Andy Rodker clubThank you so much. I guess I will slowly get a lot of the Pano pictures back onto here.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubIt's what I've been doing for a year or more. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get out and about as much as in the past so my usual mountain and cliff-top walks and photos have been somewhat curbed. But I have had pleasure in going through the archives and selecting a few here and there!! :o)
I shall look forward to seeing some of your Pano archive shots!
All best wishes,
Andy
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Ulrich John clubThank you so much. There is nothing like a steam locomotive starting its work in the morning!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThank you so much for visiting, and sharing your delight for our railway. I am so pleased that you like it. What else did you visit while you were there?
I have another picture which I posted, which was taken from the drivers cab just before the loco departed. Enjoy!
Best Wishes
Peter
Rosalyn Hilborne has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubWe stayed in Carmarthen and visited the castle and went on a steam train from there but I can't remember where it went at the moment. Also as you saw in my HFF picture we used the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which I loved! Also went to Anglesey. Hoping to visit our friends who live in Upper Tumble after Easter. They always take us on lovely days out.
Best wishes, Rosa.
