Thank you so much for your thoughtful words. This bridge was built in 1930 to replace an earlier bridge. The name Betws y Coed translates as 'Chapel in the woods', and you have notice why!!
It is a very pretty little village, and very popular with tourists.

Commenting in a hurry yesterday and I didn't notice the location!
Many a happy climbing weekend spent here in the late 70s and early 80s, including one hair-raising weekend canoeing at the nearby Swallow Falls!

The bridge is there to provide a short cut from some distant houses into the village of Betws y Coed itself, but in these days of motor cars and laziness, serves little practical purpose, except a pretty walk into the woods and fields beyond.
