A light on Cuba
Or maybe not! Seen in the old city of Havana, Cuba. These old lamps abound here but I seldom saw any burning at night. I love the cast iron knight on the top, The whole thing looks like a gas lamp relic but maybe it was electric but since the glass was so murky I could not see the bulb nor filament inside. Contrast this with the chic mansion behind. So typical of this beautifully interesting city of yesterday.
Old Ronda

Seen on the back streets in the beautiful town of Ronda in Spain. For me the four ingredients of lamp. window, door and painting with the wire separation lines had a bit of something.
Railway walk, Lees

On a dull cold day in January I normally wish for crispy snow and deep blue skies. Not much hope in this year of 17 but still a rather nice snapshot of my walking area.
Evening on the Settle line.

Seen on Grand Cayman Island, high in a tree at the tiny tourist spot of 'Hell' :)
Mural in The Valley of Viñales, Cuba

The Prehistoric Mural in Cuba's western province of Pinar del Rio is situated on a rock amidst the World Heritage Site of "The Viñales Valley". It was painted in 1959 as one of the largest 120m al fresco paintings.

Lake Windermere and Wansfell pike from Wray Castle

It is getting increasing difficult to take pictures around this beautiful lake without tourist being present. Here we see the average weather and the Lakeland fells with a light covering of snow. If you are prepared to get a little cold you can also have a very pleasant cruise around the lake enjoying your hot cup of tea.
Tarn Hows, jewel of the Lake District
The word Tarn is another word for a small lake. We have a few of these here in the Lake District and this is perhaps the most beautiful and also hence the most popular. Its easy to get to with ample near parking and even a wheelchair path that goes all around the lake now. For me, its been quite a few years since I last visited but its charms still hold true. Enjoy
The Trinnacle

High above Greenfield Reservoir and Greenfield brook is a set of rocks called Raven Stones. This pinnacle is part of those. - Funny, that I have never noticed these towers from below, which is my usual walking area.
Loch Leven from Kinlochleven

A high view from well above the village of Kinlochleven. The left side being the foothills of Glencoe and the rightside here being the foothills of Ben Nevis.
Corran
The tiny village of Corran on Loch Linnhe is a delight to walk through. Here on its beach is yet another sign of times past. Of fishing fleets and a lost age.
Mr Shaved Ice

Its hot out here in Aruba! Time for a little cool refreshment. Good job Mr Shaved Ice is here, not withstanding that noise racket caused by the bolt-on generator. Enjoy

Looking west towards the coast. I spot a small cascade above the road and so I try the vies from there rather than from road level. Amy higher and I was in danger of getting into cloud.
Ben Nevis fromthe Caladonian Canal
As I walk along the northen bank of this famous canal just above Neptune's Staircase at Fort William I get a glimpse of the even more impressive Ben Nevis. At 1,345m its Britain's highest mountain. Only moments before taking this the view was completely obscured by low cloud. Enjoy.
The wreck

I don't know how long this old fishing boat has been here on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Fort William but it will probably not ever move again. Already graffiti marks its hull. Its backdrop is the foothills of Ben Nevis, Britain highest mountain.
