Looking west towards the coast. I spot a small cascade above the road and so I try the vies from there rather than from road level. Amy higher and I was in danger of getting into cloud.

sea-herdorf, Doug Shepherd, Ste, Erhard Bernstein have particularly liked this photo

Hello Herb what a lovely shot looking down on Loch Achtriochtan and Achnambeithach Cottage .. i cannot see the deer that always seem present on the green in front of the cottage but i am sure they are around somewhere :))

Best wishes ... Steve

Hi Steve and sorry for replying to this so late. Glad you like this. Sorry we saw no deer but it was a great photo day.

... looks like a bit of a hike up from the road, but worth it -- the glistening rocks anchor this landscape of a wild-looking countryside ...

(When I stop along a roadside and reach for a camera, my wife still just heaves a big sigh and raises an eyebrow. Unfortunately, some U.S. rural roads have no shoulder (verge?) and are too busy to safely park, so shots must be passed up.)

yes it was a little hike to get up here. My wife managed to accompany me up too, doing the videoing. As you can see the weather up here was not too good bt still good enough for a shot like this. - I can well imagine the rural roads in the US as we saw similar up in the Canadian Rockies last year. At least we, over here can normally find a place to jump out of the car for a few minutes whilst taking pics. However, like you, I miss many a great view by having to drive quickly past on a narrow, no verge road.

Ein ausgezeichnetes Foto von einer fantastische Landschaft, Herb.
In den neunziger Jahren habe ich eine Rundreise durch Schottland gemacht.
Danke für die Erinnerung.
Freundliche Grüße und einen schönen Sonntag
