The Wonders of Mallorca: Sóller – Its trains and trams

The Wonders of Mallorca: Sóller – Its trains and trams
Taken from the terminus at Sóller, it has just been filled to the brim with tourist and heads back to Palma. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to take a trip on this. Instead we used the local Port de Sóller to Sóller tram to get here and back. See PiP's.

This famous 110 year old narrow gauge railway runs 27km from the capital Palma to the town of Sóller. At 3ft wide (914mm) it is a true narrow-gauge track and runs through some of the most spectacular scenery in Majorca. This overcomes the natural barrier of the ‘Sierra de Alfàbia mountain range’ in just 7km. It runs thorough 13 tunnels and over several bridges, the most impressive being the five arched “cinc-ponts” viaduct. As you see here, the engines are electrified by over-head wires.

Enjoy full size.

So glad to revive old memories Rosa. Now, I have never traveled on one of their buses here.
