It was more a happy coincidence that we were so close to the castle estate Dany. Our priority was views like this with many wonderful places to walk and visit.

Beautifully composed Herb............the gate anchors the shot perfectly. The diffused light is gorgeous - it really bring out the different green tones. The mountain makes a magnificent backdrop!

Thanks Keith, yes I liked the gate here too. The owners have an art gallery next door and so many things about the house and grounds were set in an artistic way, ie these gates which served no purpose but to be a pleasant anchor point here. The views here were to die for and I intend to post a few more of those in time. The mountain, like this we saw from our dining table and we happily watched the lighting change on that by the minute as we sat there at meal times.

Hi Peter, being here for a week afforded me many glimpses of this view so many photos too. The lighting changed minute on minute. This I think one of the best as there are clumps of lighting all around the place giving real character. I enjoyed the flowers too, there were far more to the sides and back.
We had a day at Balmoral walking the extensive grounds and having tea and cream scones in the castle garden cafe. Cheers, Herb
