Balmoral view

Balmoral view
A view down the Royal Deeside valley towards Braemar in the early evening. This was from the grounds of our cottage here in the area. The yellow flag is the Royal Standard but the Royal family are normally present from August to October only, not in May. This completes the three main views from our cottage before we venture further.

As always best viewed large.

A cracker of a view Herb......................and I like way you've composed and cropped the shot! The mountains are really wonderful and so is the sky with those beautifully lit clouds and just a hint of colour along the mountain tops.

Renoir and Contable's paintings have been described as "chocolate box art" so you're in good company..!!

Good to see you again Keith. A view like this does not really need much skill to capture it but I guess getting it at the right time, p.o.v and crop does take a little extra. Yes, we used to see a lot of 'Chocolate Box' photos at one time when folk could only take a couple of shots so it had to count. As usual, glad you enjoyed it.

It is hard to believe that such beauty as this can really exist Eunice. Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, recognised that on first seeing this area, just as I did. A haven for the Royals still today.
