Dunottar Castle view
A bit of good weather brings me back to this castle for a blue-sky traditional shot.

Dunnottar Castle is a ruined medieval fortress located upon a rocky headland on the northeastern coast of Scotland, about 2 miles south of Stonehaven. The surviving buildings are largely of the 15th and 16th centuries, but the site is believed to have been fortified in the Early Middle Ages.

Hi again Fred. To answer your question, you cannot see the wall just around the corner near the top of the steps here, with a doorway through a thick wall. More steps await the tourist then inside the grounds and up. Not a journey we made but we could see others going in and out.

Aaah, I've been waiting for the colour version! It's not as dramatic and moody as the mono version, but the castle still looks pretty stunning perched up there in the sunshine!

Yes, the castle does look much softer -almost pretty here. Both photos are real to this view but I must admit that I prefer the mono one.
