Portchester Castle

Portchester Castle
An early morning look at this splendid castle in Portsmouth from across the water near Port Solent.
A pleasant walk to catch the reflections was what I came for but it seems that a visit to the actual castle with its very interesting history is also a must.

You must be right, not a lot of Herb here, but yesterday I found back an old friend which I hadn't seen for ... 10 years in Flickr !!! We had met then on an other site, but can't remember which one. His name is Herb Master, but when I saw "Herb" this morning in the people connected, I really thought that it was him too ! (:o)) Look below towards the end... and my reply to him too.

A superb shot, Herb.
I think I told you before (assuming it was you posting other Portchester shots here or on Pano), that I visited here with a university field trip and I reckon it was the coldest few hours I've ever spent int he UK, and that includes winter climbing in Scotland and Wales! (I think it must have been Feb 77).

Sorry Andy, this is my first shot of this place which I believe I have never seen before. It was probably one of Nick's shots (above) which I believe you also visited (and he was on Panoramio too). I know it can be cold down here in Cornwall but it was quite warm on our fast visit there on our way to France this year. You are now giving your age away my friend! ~Herb
