Omaha beach è una delle cinque spiagge legate alle operazioni dello sbarco in Normandia il 6 giugno del 1944, una delle due in cui sono sbarcati i soldati americani. A vederla oggi sembra solo una lunghissima e bella spiaggia, ma cosa deve essere stata in quei giorni lo possiamo solo parzialmente immaginare. Nel tratto della spiaggia sono presenti diversi monumenti e lapidi che richiamano gli eventi della seconda guerra mondiale. Sopra a questa spiaggia è stato creato il Cimitero e Memoriale Americano, uno dei luoghi più toccanti da visitare e da dove si può anche avere una visione panoramica di questa lunga spiaggia.

Omaha beach is one of the five beaches linked to the operations of the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944, one of the two where American soldiers landed. To look at it today, it just looks like a long, beautiful beach, but what it must have been like in those days we can only partially imagine. In the stretch of beach there are several monuments and plaques recalling the events of the Second World War. Above this beach is the American Cemetery and Memorial, one of the most poignant places to visit and from where you can also get a panoramic view of this long beach.
