Mary Elizabeth Spours was Grandma Harriet's sister. She married John Walter Howe who worked in the coal mines. They moved briefly to Scotland and then back to Shilbottle, just south of Alnwick. She had two daughters, Martha Fairbairn (aka 'Madge') and Margaret Mary (aka 'Peggy). She also had three sons, Robert ('Robbie'), John Alexander ('Jack') and Donald.
