From the Beginning

The family of Herbert Brown Rae travelled with him from early on. A story from the Vancouver Sun (1924) has him, his wife Flo and daughter Dulcie with him on the first British ship to travel through the Kiel Ship Canal after the armistice. This picture must be taken very close to that event and the ship is probably the 'Sheaf Lance'.
