Mary Elizabeth Spours
Mary Elizabeth Spours was Grandma Harriet's sister. She married John Walter Howe who worked in the coal mines. They moved briefly to Scotland and then back to Shilbottle, just south of Alnwick.
She had two daughters, Martha Fairbairn (aka 'Madge') and Margaret Mary (aka 'Peggy). She also had three sons, Robert ('Robbie'), John Alexander ('Jack') and Donald.

In Service
At the very beginning of the First World War. The Spours connection is probably with the young lady in white apron to the left who I think is Mary Elizabeth Spours. We know she was 'in service' in 1911 and I think this may be the staff of her workplace -- a stately home, a hotel or even Alnwick Castle
