Approaching Baldy Top
Baldy Top is the name of the hill to the left of this image. While it does not look large, it is claimed that the best views in the Quilpie Shire are from Baldy Top lookout, an easy ten minute climb up the track from the car park. I must agree that the views were very expansive indeed - see PiPs.

Old jeans
For Macro Mondays group,10.07.2023. Topic #317 - "Something that bothers me about a piece of clothing". An old pair of worn jeans, now kept for gardening jobs. Macro image taken with a reversed 50mm lens.
Deon's Lookout bench
Benches became increasingly difficult to find as I travelled further into the outback! Probably best viewed on black. Quite an impressive view from this bench - see PiP#1. Wishing everyone a very Happy Bench Monday.
This lookout is dedicated to Deon Brook, a young man from the area, killed in a helicopter accident nearby - see PiP#2.
More emus
Seen alongside the road and, fortunately, stayig fairly close when we stopped.
Dual power pump
Windmills such as this have long been common in Australia to pump up subterranean water. It's interesting to see them now being backed up by solar panels for windless days. There's also a fence here. Wishing everyone a very Happy Fence Friday and a great weekend.
Dieter's Tree
I'm afraid I have no more idea than you as to why this tree has this label. :-) Best viewed large.
Street mustering
The beef cattle industry is the main activity in the area around the little town of Quilpie in outback Queensland. It was therefore not a total surprise to see these steel cutouts of a stockman mustering cattle in one of the main streets.

Grass macro
For "Macro Mondays" group, 3 July 2023. Topic #316, "Dried grass."
Kikuyu grass was introduced to Australia by the dairying industry. It grows very vigourously and, in the right environment, is quite invasive - not what's needed in a lawn or garden!
Time for a Fourex
XXXX is a well known beer in Australia and this pub in Windorah was an ideal place to enjoy a few.
Care to join me on a bench for a beer? HBM and have a good week, everyone.
