Big rain
I've just returned from my travels today and this was my rain gauge on returning. In just over a week, there was 255 mm (10 inches) of rain. This was way outside normal weather patterns - a new monthly record in less than half a month! It also matches the record rain and flood events being seen worldwide and consistent with climate change.
Kiama Blowhole
At Kiama there is an area of volcanic rock which happens to have a natural tunnel leading to the ocean. In the right wind and wave conditions (as here), this becomes a 'blowhole' with jets of spray emerging from the rock.
Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday. I'm about to head off for a while, best wishes everyone.
Nearby beach
It was a lovely autumn day, so I was happy to agree when a friend suggested we take a walk in a nearby National Park.
Inside wall
A little corner of the coffee shop area in a Kiama hotel. Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.

Macro Dandelions
For Macro Mondays weekly project No 359: "Dandelions" . It's autumn here, so there are no flowering dandelions - my dusty archives came to the rescue. :-)
Riverside benches
Near the Clyde River and the new bridge, an area made for picnics and shade. HBM and have a good week, everyone.
Little Pied Cormorant
The Little Pied Cormorant is quite common and found around the coast of Australia except the Great Australian Bight.
Mathoura's Bra Fence
As I drove past the little township of Mathoura, it was quite a surprise to find this very extensive Bra Fence (see also PiPs). This fence and signs are in support of breast cancer victims and research and encourage donations. UPDATE: Many thanks to Rrrolf for finding a link to the background story.
Thinking of friends affected by breast cancer and wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday.
Sunset and structure
I have no idea of the purpose (if any), but someone made this structure from driftwood found on the beach (plenty following recent rain).
