Zygocactus
The zygocactus are nearly finished blooming, so I thought it time to grab this image. I gather that, toward the other Pole, these are known as Christmas Cactus.
Artwork wall
I'm afraid the view from the bus didn't do this justice (and I'd love to visit). This is the Hundertwasser Art Centre and Wairau Art Gallery in Whangarei, New Zealand, opened in 2022. It is the last authentic building ever designed by Austrian turned Kiwi artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser—one of about 30 worldwide. More detail here.

Arriving in Kawakawa
Another from the bus, heading north from Auckland. The road passes through the little township of Kawakawa, once the service centre for a coal mine (now closed). The town is named after the kawakawa shrub and I was impressed by this destination board with the town's name.

From the bus
Heading north in New Zealand from Auckland, taken through the bus window (slight colour cast). Best viewed large. A totally different landscape to any in Australia, it could almost be Europe. See also PiPs.
