Grimsel
Baustelle Grimsel Staumauer.
Die alte Mauer (hier im Bild) wurde zwischen 1926 und 1932 gebaut. Die Probleme begannen schon beim Bau. Beim Bau der Staumauer hat man einen Spalt gelassen zwischen der Wasser- und der Luftseite, weil der Beton sich erwärmt, wenn er hart wird. Diesen Spalt hat man dann auch mit Beton aufgefüllt, leider hat sich das Ganze aber nie richtig verbunden. Deshalb hat die Mauer einen Riss.
Anstatt die alte Mauer zu renovieren, hat man sich entschieden, eine zweite Mauer vor die alte zu bauen (siehe PiP 2). Sobald die neue steht, wird die alte Mauer geflutet. Das hat den Vorteil, dass man den See weiterhin stauen und die Mauer im Trockenen bauen kann.
Ein weiteres Ziel wäre, die Staumauer um ca. 20 m zu erhöhen und so das Stauvolumen des Grimselsees um 75 Millionen Kubikmeter vergrössern. Das Projekt wird aber von Umweltverbänden erbittert bekämpft.
