Die Warnung wirkt etwas belustigend, aber Tatsache ist, dass sich immer wieder Touristen mit der Bahn hier hinauf begeben und offenbar vom Anblick überwältigt, befähigt fühlen in ihren Sandalen, High-Heels, Slippers, etc. den Abstieg zu Fuss zurückzulegen, was öfters damit endet, dass sie mit der REGA (Schweiz. Rettungsflugwacht) aus einer misslichen Lage befreit werden müssen.
Auch 50 Jahre nach dem Erscheinen des James Bond Films "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" ist das Schilthorn immer noch ein grosser Touristenmagnet.

Sami, it looks like that, but it is not a joke! Getting up is not a problem, because there is a cableway. But some of the many (most Asian) tourists then have the idea they could walk down in their shoes, that mostly are not suitable for this. :)
