Ich bin ein Tausend sassa!
Die grösste Banknote der Welt.
Nicht von den Abmessungen (158 x 70 mm), aber vom Wert her ist das die grösste Banknote der Welt.
1'000 CHF = 880 Euro = 990 US Dollar. Die nächstgrösste Banknote ist der 500-Euro-Schein, aber der wurde Ende April 2019 offiziell abgeschafft. Die im Umlauf befindlichen Banknoten sind nur noch eine bestimmte Zeit lang gültig.
In Spanien wird der 500er übrigens “Bin Laden” genannt: Alle wissen, dass die Banknote existiert, aber fast niemand hat sie je gesehen. :-)
Es gibt zwar noch die 10'000-Dollar-Note von Singapur, doch die Regierung ist seit 2014 dabei, ihre Note aus dem Verkehr zu ziehen.
Die neue 1'000-CHF Banknote ist am 13. März 2019 in Umlauf gekommen. Die neue (9. Serie) Banknoten-Serie hat das Thema "Die vielseitige Schweiz". Das Thema der 1'000er-Note ist => Kommunikation.

Von internationaler Seite wird die Schweiz kritisiert, mit der Banknote den Schwarzgeldmarkt und Terrorfinanzierung zu begünstigen. Das ist nachvollziehbar, denn 1 Million Schweizer Franken passen in eine Box von 160x140x50mm! Sie hat somit in einer kleineren Damenhandtasche Platz! :-)

Daniela, auf der Post und Bank werden sie akzeptiert. In verschiedenen Geschäften auch, aber im Supermarkt könntest du ev. Probleme bekommen. :-)

B.K., du wirst es nicht glauben, aber mein Bildbearbeitungsprogramm hat sich strikt geweigert, das Bild zu öffnen, als ich den Text reinschreiben wollte! Es kam ein Warnhinweis, dass es verboten ist, Banknoten zu fälschen. :-) Mit den neuen Fotokopierern ist es übrigens auch nicht mehr möglich Banknoten zu kopieren.
Versuch es besser mit => dem Zwanziger, das ist unauffälliger. ;-)

Nee, das liegt nicht am Kopierer, sondern an den Hologrammen auf den Geldscheinen.
Alles andere kopiert der Kopierer ja scharf. Nur Geldscheine nicht.
Ich habs gerade nochmal mit 'nem Fünfziger probiert. Einmal längs und einmal quer.
Beides ging nur bis zur Hälfte, dann bricht der Scanner ab.

Diane, no, Switzerland is not in the European Union, so we have our own Swiss Francs. But have a look on the UK. They are even more idiosyncratic. They are (still) in the EU but have their own currency: the British Pound. When the Maastricht Treaty was concluded in 1992, which included the introduction of the Euro, the United Kingdom (and Denmark) negotiated a derogation.
Again and again there are attempts from the liberal side of Switzerland to join the EU, but the conservative side has been able to prevent this so far. As you know, we are a direct democracy, so the people can vote on such requests. So far, the votes have always been negative. In addition, the mood in the EU isn't that good anyway at the moment. Accession is currently no longer advocated also by the liberal side.

I should have guessed that, but admit I had not given it a thought! You're right, the EU mood is strange and chaotic, so probably best to stay out of it anyway! Not nearly as chaotic as the USA, now. Dangerous to ourselves and the world. I am hoping every day for this nightmare to end.

Diane, in one and a half years is the first chance to change that. I hope the Democrats can agree on a few suitable candidates. The two most named Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders may not be a good choice. It has to be someone new, with clear ideas and a good strategy, I think.

The EU may look strange and chaotic. It's like a family, a gathering of idiots (except for the speaking one of course), always quarreling and though finding always a solution in the very end. For years I've been upset about this, but meanwhile I think it''s the specific European way ;-)

I completely agree with you! Joe Biden's time has come and gone and I was never very fond of Bernie. I do hope the nominee is someone young this time. The Baby Boomers (such as myself) have had many years to fix the environmental problems, for example, and we have failed. Now, we are in an urgent situation. Republican politicians will never care enough about ordinary people to see the urgency of that and many other problems. They only see $$$. That is the real reason they refuse to listen to scientists. Despicable.

It already exists a criminal story with the two "detectivs" Joe Biden and Barack Obama ► "Hope Never Dies", by Andrew Shaffer. I've read it and it's very funny with a lot of clichés and allusions to US politics.
A follow-up volume is already available in english. "Hope Rides Again". :-)

La zone Euro retire les billets de 500 Euros et la suisse surenchérit avec les 1 000 CHF bien qu'elle ne fasse pas partie intégrante,mais c'est tout de même l'Europe.
j'arrive pas a comprendre sauf si la suisse voudrai renforcer son budget et favoriser indirectement le blanchiment des gros bonnets ou des narcotrafiquants.,????

Malik, yes, Switzerland has already been criticised by several sides for its actions. "Transparency International", among others. See also the last link below the picture to the article of the NZZ:
"... No other Swiss banknote is as controversial as the 1'000 franc note. Some critics see the note, which is one of the most valuable in the world, as an ideal medium for tax evasion, money laundering and other illegal activities. Large notes take up little space and - like other notes - leave little trace.

The fact that Switzerland is still sticking to the 1'000 franc note has met with incomprehension in some quarters. For some time now, organisations such as Transparency International have been advocating the abolition of the denomination. They criticise the fact that Switzerland's adherence to such a large note is in contrast to the international trend. In May 2016, for example, the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to stop producing and circulating the 500-euro note. The measure was justified on the grounds that the note was increasingly being used for criminal activities. Accordingly, the pressure on Switzerland to stop producing the even heavier 1'000 franc notes is increasing.

The Federal Council rejects such demands. In a response to an interpellation by Social Democratic National Councillor Margret Kiener Nellen, the government said a year ago that the Money Laundering Reporting Office had not been notified of any significant suspicious cases in connection with the use of 1'000 franc notes. There was no evidence that large denominations of cash were being used for criminal purposes. However, Switzerland has a strong cash culture and a high wage and price level, which justifies the issuance of banknotes with a high nominal value. .... "

Hmm, das könnte sich direkt lohnen, so ein paar Tausender irgendwo zu bunkern, wenn sie hierulande den Bargeldhahn immer mehr zudrehen wollen...

Vielleicht sollten sie mal die Alice Weidel und den Meuthen öfter an der Grenze filzen;-)

Gudrun, das ist natürlich genau das, was man mit diesen Banknoten macht! Die Nationalbank weiss genau, wieviel sie von diesen Noten herausgegeben hat. Und bei einem Wechsel, wie jetzt geschehen, sieht sie auch, wieviel davon wieder zurückkommen. Die Differenz sind diese Noten, die irgendwo gebunkert werden. Und da soll es sich um einen zweistelligen Milliardenbetrag handeln!
Aber das ist natürlich kein Wunder, wenn man nirgends mehr Zinsen bekommt. Zudem haben viele Leute Angst vor den bargeldlosen Tendenzen, die von Staat und Banken immer mehr angestrebt werden; da verliert der Bürger die Kontrolle über sein Vermögen!

So ist es, wenn dann mal das Bargeld abgeschafft ist, kann man nämlich trefflich den Bürger kontrollieren und schröpfen und er kann nicht mehr ausweichen....Treffen wird's die Kleinen, die Großen und Kriminellen werden immer Wege finden.
