Seed Pods and Leaf

Seed Pods and Leaf
Processed in ON1 using one of their textures to get the grungy background.

I think it looks better viewed large, on black.

Glad you approve Wilhelm. I'm not particularly good at it but I enjoy playing around in Post Processing. It's the only way to learn :-)

A true work of art. You put a lot of thought and then expertise into this. Result?
An astonishingly good photo!

You're very kind Andy. One of the joys of digital photography for me is being able to play around with my images like this. I can't draw or paint, so this is a reasonable substitute :-)

Interesting. I was told at school that I should concentrate on a career in art because that is where my talents lay (they said). I couldn't see it myself. (Maybe I should have, 30 years in finance in London and 10 as a business English teacher in Madrid...). But perhaps it translates into the fact that I value the broad effect of a shot rather that trying to make it technically perfect. It is also why I am perfectly happy with my smartphone and two pocket digitals (when they work, which means not now!).

Ha, ha............I was told at school that I'd probably be better off leaving :-)) I subsequently left as soon as I could (aged 15). No qualifications, of course.......although I got GCE English and Maths when I was in my 20's to qualify for a promotion. In my late 30's/early 40's I spent six years getting a BSc(Hons) degree through the Open University and when left the RN I got a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (neither of which I used)! My only regret is that I didn't take up photography until late in life - I would have liked to have had a go at it professionally.
