Orion

Sight and Sound

A little change of pace....

There are several military installations here in the Pacific N.W. so, often times, we see military planes fly over our little woodland oasis. After some research I'm pretty sure this one is the Lockheed P-3 "Orion" which has 4 propellers and a really interesting tail used for detecting submarines.

(I was pretty excited that this pic turned out as most of my attempts to catch planes in flight just result in a blur.)

It just so happens that my favorite heavy metal band has a song with the same name as this plane.
