Thanks, Janet. I hadn't thought about the dynamic effect before. The fence is on top of an unusual retaining wall -- it rises diagonally to its maximum height, which may account for a large part of the impression.

Well its Friday here and the temperature has dropped from 18c to about 9c. This time last year we had snow and lots of it in some parts of the UK. HFF John. Have a good weekend.

Not good weather for snow, Phil, but it spares the road-clearing budget. Our winters are highly variable, too; The polar jetstream blows over the lower Great Lakes, so if it's north of us we have warm weather and if it's to the south we have cold. All the best for the weekend.

I don't envy you with the snow John. We have had balmy temperatures in the mid teens in Eastern England this week with a nice Spring feeling.

We're prepared for it, David, although it's still highly inconvenient. Winter's back should be broken by the end of the month, though. We're all saying that to ourselves, anyway.
