Built over a source - HBM

Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Jazeneuil is a fine example of a 12th-century Romanesque building. It is built over a spring that flows into the washhouse, the so-called Saint-Macou fountain, whose waters feed it before flowing into the River Vonne. The wash house with its crystal-clear water is located under the roof, which you can see here.

CONSTRUITE SUR UNE SOURCE. L'église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Jazeneuil est un bel exemple d'édifice roman du XIIe siècle. Elle est construite sur une source qui s'écoule dans le lavoir, c'est la fontaine dite de Saint-Macou dont les eaux l'alimentent avant de rejoindre la rivière Vonne. Le lavoir, avec ses eaux cristallines, se trouve sous le toit, que l'on peut voir ici.

ÜBER EINER QUELLE ERRICHTET. Die Kirche Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Jazeneuil ist ein schönes Beispiel für ein romanisches Gebäude aus dem 12. Jh. Sie wurde auf einer Quelle errichtet, die in ein altes Waschhaus fliesst. Es handelt sich um den sogenannten Saint-Macou-Brunnen, der es mit Wasser versorgt, bevor es in den Fluss Vonne fliesst. Das Waschhaus befindet sich mit seinem kristallklaren Wasser unter dem Dach, das man hier sehen kann.
