Vicar's Close

Vicar's Close
Vicar's Close wurde zwischen 1348 bis 1430 erbaut und gilt als die älteste erhaltene "Reihenhaussiedlung" Großbritanniens. Bis heute ist sie überwiegend von Mitgliedern des Kathedralchors und kirchlichen Mitarbeitern bewohnt. Die 460m lange Sackgasse wird zum Ende hin schmäler, ein optischer Trick, um sie länger wirken zu lassen.
