That looks to be a wonderful sleigh, Gudrun. He looks as if he doesn't particularly like the idea of his parents return. Maybe he has had a really lovely time with his grandparents. ;-)

Yes I suppose his grandparents were more lenient;-) But he also was bored- it takes quite some time until the ship is moored and people can get off.

Danke Lutz:-) Der hatte außer Oma und Opa auch noch zwei kleine Schwestern dabei, die habe ich leider verwackelt- hatten identische neonpinke Mützen und Röckchen an;-)

I used to use such a devise when I was a kid, but now the climate is milder, the roads are salted and pedestrian roads are graveled. It's in the interior or in the north you will find most of these nowadays.

When I was a kid there were winters I could have used a spark!
It's a real pity about the salt on the roads, it makes everything look dirty. In our town these days only main roads are salted and the use of salt on pedestrian walkways is forbidden. But so far this winter there wasn't any need at all:-(
