Detmold - nofitstate & Motionhouse

Detmold was the capital of the Principality of Lippe from 1468 until 1918 and then capital of the Free State of Lippe until 1947, when Lippe was incorporated into the new German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Detmold has a population of about 75.000, the "Hochschule für Musik Detmold" ("University of Music Detmold") and since 1992 hosts a European Festival for Street Theater, named "Bildstörung", that is held every second year over the long pentecostal weekend.

On the market place dance and circus met, when the performers used twenty oversized grey blocks to play with. The group was somehow handicapped, as one member got injured a day before, but they were able to change the complex choreography overnight and performed great. Somtimes even breathtaking!
