Detmold - Phare Ponleu Selpak


Detmold was the capital of the Principality of Lippe from 1468 until 1918 and then capital of the Free State of Lippe until 1947, when Lippe was incorporated into the new German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Detmold has a population of about 75.000, the "Hochschule für Musik Detmold" ("University of Music Detmold") and since 1992 hosts a European Festival for Street Theater, named "Bildstörung", that is held every second year over the long pentecostal weekend.
The members of "Phare Ponleu Selpak" from Cambodia did an artistical show in the garden of the Detmold castle, applauded by the numerous audience.
