Detmold - Gumball Machine

Detmold was the capital of the Principality of Lippe from 1468 until 1918 and then capital of the Free State of Lippe until 1947, when Lippe was incorporated into the new German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Detmold has a population of about 75.000, hosts the "Hochschule für Musik Detmold" ("University of Music Detmold") and still has some gumball machines.
When I was a kid I loved these machines, as the gumballs sold here, were the very best for bubblegum bubbles. Unfortunately my parents neither liked bubblegum nor these vending machines.
The "E1" (left corner) marks the "European long distance path E1", running over about 8000kms from the Nordkapp to Sicily.
