Aandenken - Mementos

Saturday Self Challenge: aandenken

Als aandenken of souvenir aan een reis of vakantie probeer ik vaak een t-shirt te kopen. Zoiets gebruik ik vaak, andere voorwerpen blijven in de kast staan, raken stoffig of verdwijnen in de la.
Op de foto de opdruk op zo’n t-shirt: het stelt drie trekkers voor die naar het drielandenpunt van Finland, Noorwegen en Zweden lopen. Deze tocht maakte ik in maart vorig jaar, zie www.flickr.com/photos/naturum/albums/72157704138274652 . Nu is dat ondenkbaar, want alle drie de landen staan voor mij nog op ‘oranje’, d.w.z. alleen voor noodzakelijke reizen. Misschien mogen op korte termijn Finland en Noorwegen, maar Zweden is voorlopig ontoegankelijk. Overigens is een aantal andere Europese landen wel toegankelijk.

Verder nog snoepgoed wat ik ken uit mijn kindertijd, gebruikt als woordspeling in het Engels. Dit snoepgoed was zeker tot de eeuwwisseling niet in het buitenland verkrijgbaar.

Saturday Self Challenge: mementos

As memento or souvenir from a travel or holiday I try to get a t-shirt. Something like this is going to be used, other objects are probably tend only to collect dust on a shelf or disappear into a drawer. On the photo a print on such a t-shirt: it imagines three hikers walking to the three cairn point of Finland, Norway and Sweden. In March last year I made a tour towards this point, see here: www.flickr.com/photos/naturum/albums/72157704138274652 These days it is unthinkable to do this as all three countries are on ‘orange’, that means only urgent travel and holiday is not urgent. May be Finland and Norway turn to ‘yellow’ (holidays possible) soon, but that is not known at this moment. It is expected that Sweden stays unaccesable for me for now and coming months. By the way, some other European countries are accessible.

Further some candy, this candy is like a memento from my early childhood and used it as a play of words. This brand was not for sale abroad until the turn of the century.
