The Sunday Challenge: Complementaire kleuren

Detail van het Nationaal Moument voor Slavernij in het Oosterpark in Amsterdam. Het geketende figuur is tijdelijk gekleed in een rood gewaad. Ter gelegenheid van de herdenking van de afschaffing slavernij in Suriname en de Antillen op 1 juli waren de figuren gewikkeld in rode en zwarte gewaden.
Het groene gebladerte in de achtergrond heb ik gebruikt als complementaire kleur voor het rode gewaad, de figuur en de boom in de achtergrond hield ik gescheiden.

The Sunday Challenge: Complementary colours

Detail of the National Monument for Slavery in the Oosterpark in Amsterdam. The chained figure is temporarily clothed in a red gown. On the occasion of the commemoration of the abolition of slavery in the former Dutch colonies of Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles on 1st July all figures were enfolded in red and black gowns.

I used the green foliage in the background as a complementary colour for the red gown, I kept the figure and the tree in the background separated.
