Goat's-beard swirls

A macro shot of the remains of a Goat's-beard plant, taken on August 18th at the Erlton/Roxboro Natural Area. Goat's-beard is a highly invasive weed that has overtaken our natural areas. Though people do Goat's-beard "pulls", there seems to be no end to this battle. Too bad it has such a beautiful flower and an enormous seedhead similar to that of a Dandelion.
