Sweet bokeh

A pretty little Sweet Pea growing at Reader Rock Garden on August 11th. I think I like the bokeh as much as the flower itself, or perhaps it's the combination of the two. Can't wait for flowers and colour! Looks like our latest deep freeze is over and we are supposed to be in for somewhat milder weather - though that can change at the drop of a hat.
Yesterday was brutally cold, but I made myself go over to Fish Creek Park to see if friends had found the tiny Northern Pygmy-owl. There must have been an accident on Macleod Trail, as it took me more than twice as long as usual to get over to the park. I soon caught up to one friend who was with another photographer, photographing the little owl. It was so far away but always a thrill to see it. So, got a few new distant photos. I was the last one standing by the time three and a half hours had passed (and a few friends had come by). Couldn't feel my fingers or my toes and I was still feeling chilled many hours later - brutal, even though the windchill was supposedly "only" -22C (-7.6F). Of course, standing still makes you so much colder. None of us like the "if I leave now, I might miss something" feeling - but, hey, Phil and David - you missed nothing, lol! The little owl flew to a couple of branches just two or three feet away from where you watched it for ages, nothing nearer. When I knew I couldn't wisely stay there one more second, the owl flew - away from me, down the creek!
