John

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: ROCKING HORSE
This is my cousin, John, taken in 1948, Leyton, London, England. He was the first baby in the family, and my mother, who was in her twenties, took many pictures of him. They remained very fond of each other all their lives.
John passed away a few months ago - several weeks after my mother died. He was a lovely, totally unique character.
Out of the blue, he had called this past Christmas, and I love that I still have our conversation and the sound of his voice in my head.
See below for another more focused, sweet pic of John.
My brother and I inherited this rather weird rocking horse. The rocker was pale blue, the seat was red, and the strange head was made of rubber!

I remember always wanting a story book type rocking horse and that certainly didn't qualify!
