The horizon is a little bit off, don't know if it is on purpose.

Thanks, Diederik. This image was hard to get exactly in line due to the wide angle of the shot, I think. I tried to match the horizon from each end, which makes the island look ever so slightly off. But when I tried to straighten the island completely, the horizon would be off, so I compromised between the two ;-)

Exceptional work Val ... each shot stand alone on it's merits! That black building really draws you into the image.

As you say, 9 -11 will forever linger in NYC and across this country.

Our nephew worked in the south Tower and had just exited the building as the second plane hit ... if they hadn't left when they did he and his staff would be a name on the memorial.

As soon as he was sure his staff were out and okay he started to walk home ... he doesn't actually remember the walk but the smells , sights and sounds will stay with him forever.

Such a horrendous loss for so many families and the U.S that day.
