47450 at East Croydon - 4 April 1986

Class 47 has seen as many livery variations as any mainline locomotive this being in part, perhaps, to its longevity. Large logo 47450 was seen at East Croydon 34 years ago at the time of posting. The roof I take to be grey rather than silver as the grubby condition of the locomotive side does not reflect the level of care and pride associated with Stratford. In any case, I believe this locomotive was allocated to Crewe Diesel (CD) at the time of the photograph.
