Memories of Ayr Depot (4) - 16 October 1985

Stalwarts of Scottish motive power at the time, Class 26 locomotive 26014 and Class 20171.

Taken in the days when depots were many, usually had locomotives and when a courteous request to look round was usually met with a courteous and affirmative reply. Ayr Depot is a little to the south of Newton-on-Ayr station.

This is the fourth in a series of rediscovered photographs being scanned during lockdown and, I hope, bringing as much joy to those thus confined as they do to me.
