Fruit of the day.

I bought the bowl at a craft fair somewhere in Buckinghamshire in the 80s and it has resided in my parent's house while I have been in Spain these past 12 years. I've always liked it so thought I'd record it on my mum's kitchen worksurface which is nicely tiled in a very cheerful red. I used to serve heaps of steamingly hot pasta in it! The bowl is EXTREMELY heavy which is why it hasn't travelled due to Ryan Air's weights policy!
Of course you don't normally place blueberries and raspberries in a fruit bowl such a this.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneAndy Rodker club has replied to Josiane Dirickx clubMy mum is very proud of her kitchen and it is indeed big enough to be the heart of the home. The red tiles cover this table which dominates the room (it's big!) and also the working surfaces and some of the walls. They make for a very cheerful and bright kitchen!

Maybe you don't know but this song has been composed by Laura’s (Raingirl] husband !
raingirl club has replied to Xata clubAndy Rodker club has replied to raingirl clubBy the way, I'm still in contact with him after all these years, even though the last time we met was when he and his family stayed with me in London in 1987! I spoke to him only last week when he told me his mother, an amazing woman, had just died on her 100th birthday!
raingirl club has replied to Andy Rodker clubAndy, what a delight to stay in touch with someone over the years, even if you haven't seen them. Some people are just more connected to us than others. I have a friend from college like that. She live in the Netherlands and I do manage to once every year or two do a zoom call, I haven't seen her in many years. Each time we talk it is like we just saw each other yesterday.
I'm sorry your friend's mother passed. Even when our parents live a long life it is a huge shift to have them gone. Dealing with the same thing this year for myself, I'm shocked at how different the world seems. I wish him fond memories and time to reflect.
