The cloudy perspective is enough to make this moor - and its perspective - interesting. As does your photo, Andy, which, indeed, reflects no aridity but rather a lovely lushness!
(I still have the Mendelssohn piece from your penultimate photo in my ears and, really, I wish I had known it earlier - in any case this interpretation!).

Thank ypu, Eric. It's not actually a moor but quite intensive farmland. At least it has become so. in 2016, it had been somewhat neglected and the poppies had a field day!
I've always loved the Mendelssohn Octet and am so familiar with it that every different recording I hear seems utterly different to others I've heard as I'm noticing all the subtle changes and interpretations!
