These towers owe a lot to Mudejar style (the Moslems left behind much architectural influence). It's not true that most were minarets before as they mainly date from after La Reconquista, but their legacy is palpable.

It was the only way to avoid a lorry (truck) just to my left and get both the steps and railings in (I was going to use it for an HFF shot but changed my mind - obviously!) and the top of the tower! Thank you, Léopold! (that's a lot of groups !)
