But as the sun climbs in the sky it releases the heady and rather cloying, aroma of the cistus (rock rose) and that starts to dominate all. It's not all that unpleasant but after a few hours it begins to get a bit too much. But then, after another couple of hours of walking, you stop noticing it so much.
