The cranes have gone; but they only migrated to another part of the city! The plain, modern, squarish building in front of the cathedral is an eyesore imho; I forget what it is - some public building or other. Next to the cathedral (less than 100 years old btw) is the Royal Palace, partly obscured by trees.

... nice perspective, the eye is drawn down the canal ... and the bit of fence is a subtle foreground element ...

(I guess these cranes don't migrate with the changing seasons.)
