Casa Grande from the Window Trail

Casa Grande from the Window Trail
On the last day of our stay in Big Bend National Park and after traveling to our campsite for the night, intending to hike in that area, we returned to the Chisos Basin and hiked the Window Trail. The weather at our campsite was overcast and threatening rain but we found sunshine in the basin. The Window is a narrow opening in the Chisos Mountains through which the water from the basin pours off. The trail is only three to four miles out and back and the photo was taken looking back down the trail to Casa Grade the peak in the center of the photo.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!!! SO MAGNIFICENT, RON!!! LOOK AT THAT ROCK FORMATION!!! *falls over* I love both pictures and they really make me bounce up and down with yearning to go there and see this glorious place for myself! What a fabulous hike you must have had. SO BEAUTIFUL! And isn't it nice that you were able to escape the not-so-nice weather and do this extraordinary hike! What a treat.

I loved the not you left me..please tell Nancy I said happy belated birthday! And what a fine present for her, I'm so excited for you guys! It will be such fun to polish some of the stones that you have! Hooray! :) :)

Glad you liked my flowery show, it's always a treat to get out there and discover something special to photograph. Also so unfortunate that the world is overrun by invasive species of one kind or another. But at least blindweed flowers are beautiful, right?! :) They can be absolutely breathtaking and finally I got a picture that I've been hoping for...the timing has not been right til now!
