Mexican Jay

Mexican Jay
Big Bend National Park is a bird-watcher's paradise with around 415 species, though many of these are migrants passing through the park. We missed most of the birds since we were there too early for the spring migration, but did catch a few, this a Mexican Jay, a park resident.

Such lovely birds, Ron! :) It's always such a nice prize to capture a bird well, as you have in your trio. I've never seen a Mexican Jay, how lovely! The dove is really beautiful too--I adore their cooing, who doesn't! :D And that third birdy with its fluffy feathers popping out on each side of its wingys...it's the BEST!!! :D

Steve and I arrived at LaPine at about 5pm and got ourselves set up. After lovely creamy espressos to revive us we had a dish for dinner that I made a couple of days ago--cabbage chicken--and it's just so YUMMY! It's wonderful to have ready-made food to just pop in the microwave when we're wiped out on Moving Day.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed my pictures for today! Isn't macro awesome?! There's just nothing like sharing those special details. Yet, your scenics as well as your macros knock my socks off all the time...to the point that I must buy new socks on a regular basis since they keep disappearing--YOUR FAULT! :D

Yay for fresh, home grown veggies and fruits! I miss our 'mater plants, how divine they taste! It's such a treat to enjoy things you grow. Nothing like it. :) I had to giggle..."Peter Piper's purple peppers"...lolol, that's awesome!! :D

Yeah, odd weather for us too...it got downright cool as well, but began heating up again, though not blasting hot which was nice.

How nice to have a sense of normalcy with Jess and Dave and family coming by to spend time with you. We all need this so much. It's interesting that getting out in the trailer has broken us out of our rut of depression...we're both wagging our tails at full-speed now and loving life so much! It's so nice to be back. :)

Ok, time for bed my friend. Wanted to check in before I fall on my face! Please send my regards to Nancy! Have a lovely day/night/ whenever you read this! Heh! :D
