Big Bend Morning

Camped along the River Road in Big Bend National Park, this was the sunrise the fifth morning of our stay in the park. As beautiful as the sunrise was it foretold a day that was mostly cloudy and dull.

The two trees will fall asleep too
Great, Ron
Have a nice Sunday
Oh Ron, tysm for your grand compliments on my blue jay pictures! You make me feel like a NG photographer, but heh...I'm not worthy! I am so happy that you love them though, talk about making my day!! *big hugs* I try not to focus on the faults of my pictures, so thanks for your enthusiasm! :) I was sure delighted to get pictures of a sunning bird...I've never even seen this behavior in person before so I am really happy about that picture! :D (It's actually through a screen in the window but still turned out well--I have others above the screen but the angle isn't as nice so I went for the picture in the main image)
Wow, the trio of lovely choices for you to visit have me bouncing up and down...we've not been to any of them but would dearly love to--we've driven past Ollympia a couple of times now and man oh man do I want to see that place. And the others--Ranier and Helens--are places we have on our list too! Hopefully you can see them all on your trip, fun times ahead! :)
Oh man...you're training with a full pack...UGH! I am a total wimp when it comes to carrying stuff. My forward motion slows to a snail's pace and all the while I am not at all happy with the load. Add variable terrain and Janet is a Unhappy Camper! :D Kudos to you for that amazing endurance!
Glad you're enjoying your lovely little grandchild, it's got to be an amazing experience with every addition to the brood! :)
Finally, it's achingly sad about poor, dear Neal. What an absolute bummer. And the fact that he cannot fully understand it all makes it worse. I'm so sorry for all of you in this sad situation.
Well, I'm off...Steve and I are going to drive out to the lighthouse and then go rockhounding on the beach...we found zillions yesterday but now we're really fired up for a proper hunt!
